Musa Shadeedi is an Iraqi writer, born in 1992, and is a researcher in sexuality and the body. He is the founder of Cinamji, a queer feminist Arabic cinema initiative founded in 2017. Musa has also been an Arabic editor in MyKali since 2017, MyKali is an online magazine that aims to defy mainstream gender binaries in the SWANA region. Musa published four books about sexuality in Arabic: “The Day We Never Had a Father”,” Non-Normative Sexuality in Arabic Cinema,” “Oum Kalthoum’s Sexuality” and “Gayness in the Invasion of Iraq.” In addition, his work has been published in several key publications in the region including Kohl Journal, 7iber and Manshoor.
